◉ Our Programmes
Three ways to study household finance
Each programme serves a different kind of learner and a different set of household circumstances. This page describes all three in detail so you can decide which, if any, is right for you.

How we approach teaching
Read before the room
Each session is preceded by a printed reader delivered to participants in advance. This allows the session itself to be a conversation about what they have read, rather than a one-way delivery of new information.
The session as dialogue
Small groups allow every participant to contribute and question. Our sessions are structured around the reader, but they follow the questions that arise — not a rigid slide order. The instructor draws on two decades of direct experience to address what the room needs.
Reflection and return
Understanding deepens in the days after a session. Our private forum is open between sessions for follow-up questions. Participants in bespoke programmes receive written summaries after each meeting to support continued reflection.
◉ Programme One
After-Hours Money Study
Six-Week Evening Group · SGD 250
A six-week evening study group held on Tuesday evenings, designed for working professionals in their forties and fifties who would like to use the calm hours after dinner to think about household finance without distractions. Each evening covers one subject: household ledger, CPF as a household pension, insurance and protection, investments at the simplest level, retirement income, and the longer arc of giving and legacy. Sessions are deliberately small at ten participants. A printed reader is provided in advance of each session, and a quiet online forum is open between meetings for follow-up questions.
What each evening covers
- 1.Household ledger — understanding what comes in and what goes out, without a spreadsheet
- 2.CPF as a household pension — OA, SA, MA, RA and what they mean at 55 and 65
- 3.Insurance and protection — what you likely hold, what you may need, and how to read a policy
- 4.Investments at the simplest level — unit trusts, index funds, SSBs, and how to think about risk
- 5.Retirement income — CPF Life, SRS drawdown, and building a picture of the years ahead
- 6.Giving and legacy — wills, trusts in simple terms, and the conversations worth having now
◉ Programme Two
Singapore Wealth Literacy Course
Eight-Week Course · SGD 400
An eight-week course for adults aged forty and above who would like to understand the Singapore wealth landscape thoroughly — CPF top-ups under the Retirement Sum Topping-Up Scheme, the Supplementary Retirement Scheme and its tax treatment, the variety of unit trusts and index funds available through local platforms, the role of Singapore Savings Bonds, and the careful matter of foreign-currency exposure for Singapore households with regional ties. Taught by an instructor who spent over twenty years in private banking in the region. The course is educational, not advisory.
What the course covers
- The RSTU scheme — who qualifies and how top-ups affect retirement planning
- SRS in depth — contribution limits, tax treatment, and drawdown strategy
- Unit trusts and index funds on local platforms — fee structures and selection
- Singapore Savings Bonds — how they work and their role in a household portfolio
- Foreign currency exposure for households with regional assets or family ties
◉ Programme Three
The Lantern Track
Six-Session Bespoke Programme · SGD 720
A bespoke programme of six private sessions held in a quiet seminar room over roughly three months. The track is designed for those whose household situation does not fit the standard group programme — perhaps because of a recent inheritance, a business interest, a coming retirement, or the wish to bring a spouse or adult child into the conversation. The track begins with a long opening session in which the household sets out what it would like to understand, and proceeds through five further sessions tailored to the questions that emerge. Written materials are prepared between sessions and a final summary document is provided.
How the six sessions unfold
- 1.The opening session — the household explains its situation, concerns, and what it wants to understand
- 2–5.Four further sessions, each built around written materials prepared from the previous meeting's questions
- 6.A closing session and final summary document — a written record of what was covered and the key points to carry forward
